STIRRUP DEM PANTS
Bondage pants
/trousers are known
to have several zipper,chain
rings and buckle de-
tailing on them.
They have a
certain "BDSM" style
to them. They come in many different styles: loose, tight, long, short
and capri
These pants
are popular in the
young subcultures such as punk, ravers, goth and indies. They first came out in
the 70's.
Women's
version are less
baggy and feature lace
& ribbon with a little bit less of metal to make it more feminine.
Originally created in 1910, they came back intto the fashion scene in the 80's.
Althought they
were seen now as rather costumey, they were still at the top
of the fashion
statement list throughought
the 1980's
Towards the late 80's, a certain pop star took the Harem style pants and made
it his own;
Mc Hammer (known as hammer
pants)
Palazzo trousers/
slacks/pants were intro-
duced to the fashion world
in the early 70's. They are long
women's pants with a very
wide leg that flare out
from the waist
down.
This style is very
popular for the summer considering it is made with
very flowy fabrics that offer a breathable sensation in
hot weather.
These
pants re-
semble very
much the early 1910
harem pants with the only
difference of the flaring leg
where the harem pants
would be tight around
the ankle.
Stirrup pants is a close fitting pant that tapers at the ankle, simmilar to leggings, except that the material extends to a elastic band or strap that caresses to arch under the foot to hol the pant in place.
Originally made as a sportswear piece, it rapidly grew as a streetwear look in the 1980's.
